Friday Note (Jan. 24- Jan. 28, 2011)

Dear Parents,

Here are some of the things the children have been working on this  week.
Language Art:  We have been learningthe letter "Vv". And we have been reviewing the Hihg Frecuency Words and we are writting a history by ourself.
Math:  This week the children have been practicing numbers from 0 to 100, and learning about addition.
Social Studies: We have finished with the community helpers and we are going to talk about healthy food.
Arts and crafts:  we have finished to make a picture of a spanish painter called Velazquez.
Music and dance:  We are learning a spanish rhyme talking about the winter and we are going to learng a song about clothes.
Gym: We played with the balls practicing the coordination.

Show and tell: The children need to  bring something that start with the letter Vv.

Spanish:  We are going to start with the healthy food and seasons.

Remember: Please remember to bring the folders and the homeworks during the week, BEFORE  next Friday.
Fieldtrip: All classes of Kindergarten students will be going on their second fieldtrip to the Ogden Nature Center in Ogden on Wednwsday February 2. We will leave the school at 8: 15 a.m. and returning approx. 12:15 p.m. The students do NOT need to bring a lunch and they will be dismissed upon returning to the school. Childern should wear warm outdoor clothing as they will be outside for about 1 hour of the time. Snow pants, warm jackets, warm mittens, hats and snow boots will allow them to be warm and dry and better able to snowshoe and focus on the activities the Naturalist has planned for them  The entrance fee for the students will be $ 3.50 and the school will pay the cost of the school bus for our transportation. Permission  slips for the trip are due today, Friday, January 28. Parents please do not park in the round a bout at the front of the school when picking children up. The buses need to pull in and drop them off.
 
 
REMEMBER: we will leave the school at 8:15, so be in the school before that hour we can not wait because we have to start in the Nature Center at 9:00 o'clock.
And remember that we come back about 12:15 p.m.

Friday Note (Jan. 17- Jan. 21, 2011)

Dear Parents,

Here are some of the things the children have been working on this  week.
Language Art:  We have been playing to identify the letters and do it very fast. And we have been reviewing the Hihg Frecuency Words.
Reading minutes: Please continue to keep track of your child's reading minutes and submit to me every Friday. When your child reaches 200 minutes they will recieve a special achievement bracelet from the school. This reading challenge goes until the last Friday in January.
Math:  This week the children have been practicing numbers from 0 to 100, I had the time with the chronometer. We have been playing to identify the numbers.
Social Studies: We started our community helpers and have learning about the various jobs that people have in our community. This Friday , we had a visit from a dietitian mum that talked about healthy food.we would still like to have a parent who is in the medical profession (ie.  nurse, doctor, vet, chef, farmer, mail carrier, dentist, hairdresser, plumber, pilot, military...) we would love to have you come and share for about 20 min. with the children (grandparents, aunts and uncles would be great as well). They enjoy this so much!! Next week will be our last week on community helpers so please let us know by e-mail and we can schedule a time for you to come in. Thanks!!! 
Arts and crafts:  we are going to continue making a picture of a spanish painter called Velazquez.
Music and dance:  We are learning a spanish song talking about the peace. And we are going to practice the dance called sevillanas.
Gym: We are going to learn a new spanish game called "A la zapatilla por detrás".
Show and tell: The children need to  bring something that start with the letter Jj.

Spanish:  We are going to review the comunity helpers and the clothes.

Remember: Please remember to bring the folders and the homeworks during the week, BEFORE  next Friday.
Fiesta grande: The Kindergarden will be having their Fiesta Grande on Friday, January 28. The children will be making 1  instrumental crafs and will need to bring 2 toilet paper rolls by Friday to make maracas. We will also be having tortilla chips and salsa to eat in the classroom. We are having a pinata and the children will each recieve 5 wrapped candies from the pinata to bring home.

Dear Parents,

Here are some of the things the children have been working on this  week.
Language Art:  We have been learning  the letter Vv. And we have been reviewing the Hihg Frecuency Words.
Reading minutes: Please continue to keep track of your child's reading minutes and submit to me every Friday. When your child reaches 200 minutes they will recieve a special achievement bracelet from the school. This reading challenge goes until the last Friday in January.
Math:  This week the children have been reviewing the numbers from 11 to 20. We have been counting from 0 to 100 and identifying the numbers. And we have been playing with missing numbers.
Social Studies: We started our community helpers and have learning about the various jobs that people have in our community. Last Monday, we had a visit from the Layton fire Dept, it was very interesting and funny. If you have a job that children might enjoy learning about (ie. police officer, nurse, doctor, vet, chef, farmer, mail carrier, dentist, hairdresser, plumber, pilot, military...) we would love to have you come and share for about 20 min. with the children. They enjoy this so much!! Please let us know by e-mail and we can schedule a time for you to come in. Thanks!!!

Warm Clothes: With the cold weather now upon us it is very important that children bring warm outer clothing to wear, (hats or hoods, warm coats, warm gloves or mittens and boots). Little hands, toes, ears and bodies get cold easyly and the children have a 15 min. recess day to play and get some exercise. Please make sure that your child brings their indoor shoes to change into, as boots are left at the entrance to keep our rugs clean and dry for sitting and playing on.
Fieldtrip: All classes of Kindergarten students will be going on their second fieldtrip to the Ogden Nature Center in Ogden on Wednwsday February 2. we will leave the school at 8: 15 a.m. and returning approx. 12:15 p.m. The students do NOT need to bring a lunch and they will be dismissed upon returning to the school. They will take part in a Kindergarten program run by the Naturalist at the center called "Tracks". The children will learn to identify animal tracks in the snow and make their own tracks wearing snowshoes. They will also learn about and see some animal shelters used by various animals in the area. The center also serves as a sanctuary for various birds that have been injured. the entrance fee for the students will be $ 3.50 and the school will pay the cost of the school bus for our transportation.  

Homework: Dear parents I need your address in the envelop that I sent last week and your telephone number in the telephone, I want your children learn it. Please I am going to wait just the next week to have alls. Thank you.

Dear Parents,

Here are some of the things the children have been working on this  week.
Language Art:  We have been learning and reviewing the letters Ww and Xx, we have been practicing how to writte them and read them in a word. I am going to continue sending every week some words and phrases in a piece of paper to read at home with your child, parents, please I need your help with it, read with your children everyday. Leave that paper at home.
Reading minutes: Please continue to keep track of your child's reading minutes and submit to me every Friday. When your child reaches 200 minutes they will recieve a special achievement bracelet from the school. Tehe reading challenge goes until the last Friday in January.
